Jone Skjensvold (1967) bor og arbeider på Stad, et av Norges mest værharde steder helt ytterst i havgapet. Der finner han inspirasjon i naturen som omgir ham – fra himmelens lysskiftninger til fargekombinasjonene som oppstår i ørsmå detaljer. I Kunstbanken viser han to maleriserier. Portraits of the Sun avbilder atmosfærisk lys og variasjoner over fargespekteret. De er studier av ulike graderinger som oppstår når to farger møter hverandre på himmelen. Simple Rules utforsker virkemidlene rom, overlapping og transparens når to farger møtes på lerretet. Kunstneren er opptatt av den nøyaktige fargeblandingen og fargenes relasjoner. Han ønsker at sammensetningene av fargeflater mot bakgrunn og deres innbyrdes proporsjoner og intensitet skal oppleves som en helhetlig og harmonisk klang.

Jone Skjensvold (1967) lives and works at Stad, one of the most weather-beaten places in Norway. There he finds inspiration in nature – from the sky’s ever-changing light to the colour combinations that arise in tiny details. In Kunstbanken he shows two series of paintings. Portraits of the Sun depicts atmospheric light and variations in the range of colours. The paintings are studies on the different scales that arise when two colours come together in the sky. Simple Rules explores the mediums space, overlapping and transparency when two colours converge on the canvas. The artist is interested in the precise mix of colours and their connection. He strives to create a sense of holistic and harmonious timber in the composition of colours and their interlinked proportions and intensity.
