Forestillingen utforsker fortellinger som går på tvers av generasjoner, og kombinerer personlige og kulturelle historier fra Baltikum og det arktiske nord. Historien utfolder seg både gjennom det som blir fortalt med ord, og gjennom gjenstander – som for eksempel et teppe kunstneren har arvet fra sin oldemor i Litauen. Kroppen blir også en historieforteller – et levende arkiv som bærer med seg erfaringer, traumer og styrke fra tidligere generasjoner.

Gjenstander spiller en sentral rolle i forestillingen. De bærer minner, og representerer biter av tidligere liv, tradisjoner og glemte fortellinger.

Marija Griniuk er en litauisk kunstner med bakgrunn innen visuell kunst, performance og performativ pedagogikk. Hun utforsker nye måter å formidle kunstnerens indre opplevelser til publikum. Griniuk har en doktorgrad i kunst fra Universitetet i Lappland i Finland, og jobber nå som postdoktor ved Kunstakademiet i Vilnius.

The performance delves into intergenerational storytelling, combining personal and cultural narratives from the Baltic region and the Arctic North. The story unfolds through the narrative as a spoken sequence and through the objects, for example a carpet inherited by the artist from her grandmother’s mother from Lithuania. The human body becomes a storyteller in its own right – a living archive that carries ancestral experiences, traumas, and resilience.

Objects play a central role in the performance as carriers of memory, representing fragments of past lives, traditions, and forgotten narratives.

 

Marija Griniuk is a Lithuanian artist with a background in visual arts, performance art, and performance pedagogy. Griniuk studies new ways of presenting the audience the inner feelings of performing artists. She holds a Doctor of Arts from The University of Lapland in Finland and is a postdoctoral researcher at Vilnius Academy of Arts.
