Sara Lundén (f. 1970) er aktiv innen performance, billedkunst, musikk og film, og regnes i dag som en av Sveriges sentrale performancekunstnere. I Kunstbanken viser hun maratonperformancen I Took Hormones to Become a Man, hvor hun framfører alle sine selvkomponerte sanger i kronologisk rekkefølge, akkompagnert av flygel.
Første gangen hun sang seg gjennom sin totale produksjon var på performancefestivalen Perfect Performance ved Kulturhuset i Stockholm 2003. Antallet sanger var den gangen 82, og å framføre dem tok nesten tre timer. Andre gangen var i september i år på Kunstihoone i Tallin.
Lundén har gjort performancer med utgangspunkt i sangtekster og muikk siden 1998, da hun opptrådte som en ekstremt høy kvinne på 2,40 m. Hun har gjort to kortfilmmusikaler, Deadly Boring og Hon är död. Førstnevnte fikk Guldbagge-nominasjon, mens den andre vant pris i Chicago. I tillegg har hun gitt ut en CD og en singel og arbeider for tiden med sitt neste album.
Sara Lundén (b. 1970) is actively involved in performance, representational art music and film. She is regarded as one of the principal performance artists in Sweden today. In Kunstbanken she shows the marathon performance I Took Hormones to Become a Man, in which she performs all her self-composed songs in chronological order to the accompaniment of a grand piano.
The first time she sang her way through her complete repertoire was at the performance festival Perfect Performance at Kulturhuset in Stockholm (2003). At that time, the number of songs was 82 and performing them lasted about three hours. The second time was in Kunstihoone in Tallin in September this yaer.
Lundén has created performances using song lyrics and music as her starting point since 1998, when she performed as an extremely tall woman of 2.40 metres. She has made a couple of short film musicals, Deadly Boring and Hon är död (She is dead). The first one was nominated for the Guldbagge award, while the second won her a prize award in Chicago. She has also released a CD and a single and is currently working on her second album.
