Kunstbanken er en viktig arena for visning av norsk kunsthåndverk og i vår kunstbutikk er mer enn femti kunsthåndverkere representert. Vi markerer med stolthet og glede Norske Kunsthåndverkere (NK) sitt 50 års-jubileum med sommerutstillingen Håndtert, hvor fem anerkjente kunsthåndverkere innen fagfeltene tekstil, tre, metall og keramikk deltar.

Norske Kunsthåndverkere har 1050 medlemmer og arbeider for å styrke kunsthåndverkeres virke og synliggjøre samtidens materialbaserte kunst.

Silje Solvi og Linda Lothe – Blue for Two

viser utstillingen Blue for two. De to ble kjent med hverandres kunstnerskap via Instagram. Begge interesserer seg for de langsomme prosessene, for håndverket, tingenes fortellinger og for bærekraft. Solvi arbeider med tekstil og Lothe med keramikk, ofte i dialog med funne gjenstander. Begge er opptatt av det nære; ting de har arvet, fått eller funnet og det tingene bærer med seg av assosiasjoner, minner, refleksjoner og betraktninger.

Et samarbeid innebærer at man kan dra veksler på hverandre, og inspireres av hverandres likheter og ulikheter, av det myke tekstilet og den harde keramikken. Det blå-hvite, det klassiske, blomstene, dyrene og det viltre, rampete og anarkistiske.

Silje Solvi (f. 1977) er utdannet innen tekstil ved Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. Linda Lothe (f. 1963) er utdannet innen keramikk ved Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo, University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) i Stockholm og Capellagården Crafts Foundation på Öland.

I sommer feirer vi også kunsthåndverket i kunstbutikken, med et ekstra stort utvalg av kopper, skåler, krus, smykker, skjerf, vaser, glass, fat og boller, for å nevne noe. I tillegg tilbyr vi blant annet grafikk, malerier, tegninger og skulpturelle arbeider. Mer enn 50 profesjonelle kunsthåndverkere er representert hos oss, med arbeider i forskjellige formater, teknikker og prisklasser. Kunstbanken is a key venue for showcasing Norwegian craftsmanship, and our art shop features work from over fifty arts and contemporary craft artists. We are proud to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts with the summer exhibition Handled, which highlights five distinguished artists specialising in textiles, wood, metal and ceramics.

The Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts has 1,050 members and is committed to supporting contemporary craft artists while promoting contemporary, material-based art.

Silje Solvi and Linda Lothe

present the exhibition Blue for Two. The two artists became acquainted with each other’s work through Instagram. Both share an interest in slow processes, craftsmanship, the stories objects tell and sustainability. Solvi works with textiles, while Lothe specialises in ceramics, often in dialogue with found objects. Their focus is on the intimate and immediate: objects they have inherited, received or discovered, along with the associations, memories and reflections these items carry.

Collaboration between the two fosters mutual inspiration, drawing on their shared and contrasting elements: the softness of textiles and the hardness of ceramics, the blue and white, the classical, the flowers, the animals, and the wild, mischievous and anarchistic.

Silje Solvi (b. 1977) studied textiles at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Linda Lothe (b.1963) studied ceramics at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm and the Capellagården Crafts Foundation in Öland.

This summer, we are also celebrating craftsmanship in our art shop, with an expanded selection of cups, bowls, mugs, jewellery, scarves, vases, glassware, plates and bowls, to name just a few. We also offer a variety of other works, including prints, paintings, drawings and sculptures.
